Naval Vessel Tracking System
The CoastWatch Coastal Surveillance Network (CoastWatch/CSN) is a maritime monitoring and control system, designed for multiple applications. It combines modern technology with years of experience in sensor data fusion, advanced signal processing and real-time distributed surveillance. More than 30 of these systems are operational, including the largest AIS network in the world. CoastWatch/CSN provides a robust, scalable and highly adaptable network system that supports multi-layered system design.
Coastwatch will fill an important role of surveillance of coastal areas from air, land and sea for nations around the world that face threats such as illegal immigration and fishing, smuggling, environmental pollutions etc.
CostWatch include state of the art sensors such as Radars, AIS/Secure AIS, CCTV etc. together with highly advanced software applications which collect, distribute and display the obtained maritime situational information.
The CoastWatch system is a network centric application, all sensors are network enabled and TCP/IP capable, which simplifies integration of new customer specific sensors.
R40 Base Station
The R40 Base Station from Saab is the main component of a Physical AIS Shore Station as defined by IALA. Its main purpose is to receive data from and transmit data to AIS equipped vessels, travelling within the coverage area of the Base Station. This will give the possibility to monitor and follow ships’ movements in an efficient way.
The R40 is installed either stand-alone or integrated into a network, such as the market leading Saab AIS Network. Product variants exist for:
- Full version, including all features, e.g. Redundant configuration AtoN functions and all options as specified in the IEC standard.
- Standard version, meeting all requirements in the IEC standard.
- Receive-only version.
- Repeater version.
- Secure version, allowing the user to transmit and receive encrypted messages.
R5 Supreme W-AIS
The R5 Supreme W-AIS System is based on the R5 Supreme AIS product, but offers great benefits for qualified customers. In addition to working as a Class A transponder, it will give access to other modes of operation, enabling encrypted communication between selected units and other additional capabilities.
The R5 system features cutting edge digital radio technology, resulting from more than five years’ research into software defined radios. Sharing radio technology with military grade systems, the R5 technology is a big leap forward into the future of AIS radios. The highly versatile R5 platform will continue to evolve as new requirements are introduced.
The Supreme version of the R5 technology provides the user with a flexible, future-proof product. The large colour touch-screen display and multitude of interfaces make the system highly appropriate for integration into modern networked bridge solutions.
